Porcelain Bridges
Sometimes gum disease, injury, decay, or normal wear results in the loss of a tooth. A missing tooth or teeth can create significant problems for your dental health if not properly corrected. Over time your bite pressure may shift to other parts of your mouth to compensate for an inability to chew efficiently in the area of the missing tooth. Neighboring teeth may begin to move into the open area, resulting in discomfort, pain, and even more problems down the road. Bridges made of porcelain “bridge the gap” in your smile. Dr. Sexton can create a lifelike, functional bridge to correct your smile, restore your bite, and alleviate your discomfort. A bridge is created out of metal, alloys, and / or porcelain and utilizes the teeth on both sides of the gap as its supportive structure. After some preparation of the two neighboring teeth, crowns are created for them. A prosthetic tooth is fused between the crowns to fill the area of missing tooth. A bridge is a semi-permanent dental restoration, meaning it can only be removed by your dentist, so you can rest assured that your porcelain bridge will be a lasting restoration for your oral health.
Porcelain Crowns
Your teeth undergo a tremendous amount of wear and tear during your lifetime. Teeth may show this wear in a variety of ways, including discoloration, chipping, and cracking. Crowns restore your teeth and your smile to look brilliant once again. Porcelain crowns can be made out of porcelain pressed to metal, or they can be porcelain throughout. Porcelain crowns can be shaded to match your other teeth. Crowns made of precious metal are also an option. After some tooth preparation, crowns are specially fitted to give you back the look and functionality of your smile. If you have pain when chewing or temperature sensitivity, ask Dr. Sexton if crowns are right for you.

Bonding
Bonding refers to the placement of tooth-colored resin to correct chipped and broken teeth, discolored teeth, and in some cases, spaces between teeth. If bonding is the right treatment for you, Dr. Sexton will utilize a special resin to perfectly match the natural shade of your tooth. Like a sculptor, he will mold the resin to create a natural looking tooth that compliments the size and shape of the rest of your teeth. You’ll see a smooth, elegant, and complete smile.
Tooth Colored Fillings If you are embarrassed about your smile because of decayed, disfigured or discolored teeth, you may be a good candidate for composite resins. A composite resin is a silicon dioxide-filled tooth-colored material mixture that can restore teeth to an attractive, healthy state. Composite resins present several advantages to the patient compared with traditional silver fillings. First, your dentist is able to blend composite shades and shapes so as to match the original teeth nearly perfectly. Second, the tooth-composite bond actually serves to support the remaining tooth structure, preventing breakage and providing insulation against temperature changes. Finally, small- to average-sized composites have demonstrated similar duration to silver fillings. Resin placement is simple. Depending on the size of the filling and location of the composite, it may require as little as 10 or 20 minutes longer than what is needed for a traditional silver filling. Although some patients notice a bit of post-placement sensitivity, this is temporary. The only caution we usually mention is that coffee, tea and other staining types of foods and beverages may discolor your composites unless you ask to have them coated with a clear plastic sealant.
Clear Correct
You can straighten your teeth without metal braces! ClearCorrect™ is an FDA approved system that uses 3D computer imaging to map out your entire treatment plan in advance, allowing you to see what your teeth will look like before you begin treatment. Then, using the imaging, a series of clear, custom aligners are created that will move teeth incrementally. Over time, you will replace each aligner with the next aligner in the sequence. There are no uncomfortable brackets or wires, and because you remove the aligners to eat and drink, there are no food restrictions or problems with brushing or flossing. Most people will never notice that you are undergoing treatment!
